MCL-Collection software is available for electronic order fulfillment, electronic software download, and online license activation. This means you are able to license your software electronically and start using your new software products immediately.
All MCL software is downloadable from the Software Downloads page.
When you purchase MCL software, a License Certificate is emailed to you immediately upon receipt of your order by MCL Technologies.
Your supplier places your MCL-Collection software order with us. The order fulfillment process is completely automated. Therefore global timezone differences have no impact on our fulfillment of your order.
Once an MCL software product has been ordered, the order may not be canceled. Please confirm that you are ordering the right product before placing your order.
You can choose to activate your software via Software Key Activation or Hardware Key Activation. Hardware Key Activation means you can transfer your software and its license from one PC to another. Software Key Activation ties your license to a given PC and cannot be transferred to a different PC.
The Hardware Key must be purchased separately and in addition to your MCL software.
Hardware Keys are available in two configurations: Parallel port and USB port.
The Hardware Key must be installed on your computer prior to activating your MCL software.
If you use a Hardware Key to activate a product, the Hardware Key must be present to run the software thereafter.
An MCL software license can only be activated to one Hardware Key. In other words, you cannot activate a single MCL-Designer license to two different Hardware Keys.
You can activate more than one MCL software license on the same Hardware Key. For instance, MCL-Designer and MCL-Link could both be activated using the same Hardware Key. However, if you want to run them concurrently, they must be running on the SAME PC since the Hardware Key must be present for the software to run.
If you want to run several MCL software products on different PCs, purchase more than one Hardware Key and activate the various products against different Hardware Keys.
Make your choice between Software Key Activation and Hardware Key Activation carefully. You cannot change from Software Key activation to Hardware Key activation at a later stage. Please see Licensing for more information.
MCL-Client must be Software Key activated. Hardware Key Activation is only an option for PC-based software.
If you are a Solution Integrator responsible for delivering a project for 90 mobile computers, consider purchasing MCL-Client 100 User pack. You can deploy the current project by providing your customer with licenses for 90 devices now. You can use the remaining 10 MCL-Client licenses on another project later.
MCL License Certificates do not expire. You can activate your license today, tomorrow or at any time in the future.
MCL-Net licenses for multiple users support all the users on the same MCL-Net on a single PC. For example, MCL-Net 5 User cannot be split to support one user on each of 5 different PCs.
Only one MCL-Net can be installed and run (at a time) on a given computer. First install/activate MCL-Net; then MCL-Net Additional users can be purchased and activated to increase the number of users on the same computer.
All of the ‘MCL-Net Additional user’ products require that MCL-Net be installed and activated before adding the additional users.
MCL-Link Lite is bundled with some OEM devices. It is not available for separate purchase and will not function with any other device than that with which it is bundled.
MCL-Link 4 Port Multi-Com is installable and licensed to run on one single PC only. It cannot be split to run on 4 different PCs.
MCL-Link 8 Port Multi-Com is installable and licensed to run on one single PC only. It cannot be split to run on 8 different PCs.
MCL-Designer must be installed and activated prior to installing MCL-Designer Add-on for SAP.
All MCL-Bridge for SAP components require the SAP GUI (client version 3.0 or higher) to be installed on the machine also.
MCL-Bridge for SAP requires MCL-Net or MCL-Link to communicate.
To interface with SAP using RFCs and BAPIs you need only the RFC/BAPI component of MCL-Bridge for SAP.
The IDOC component of MCL-Bridge for SAP requires the RFC/BAPI component to communicate to SAP. Therefore, to interface with SAP using IDOCs, you need both the RFC/BAPI component and the IDOC component of MCL-Bridge for SAP.
MCL-Bridge IDOC component does not include the RDBMS.
The names have changed for our SAP products… still the same great products, just a different name:
MCL-Bridge V3 for SAP is SAP Certified.
Each manufacturer offers one or more "MCL-Collection" products. When you order one of these products, you are essentially buying a "developer's kit". These products typically include licenses for MCL-Designer, MCL-Link, MCL-Net for 5 users and 5 MCL-Client licenses. However, if the MCL-CLient is factory-installed and activated, its corresponding MCL-Collection product does not include any MCL-Client licenses. Similarly, if the device is intended for batch communication only, its related MCL-Collection product will not include a license for MCL-Net. The inclusion or absence of certain licenses is reflected in the price of the MCL-Collection product.
